Review of Josh & Hazels Guide to Not Dating

Summary Courtesy of Gallery Books
Hazel Camille Bradford knows she’s a lot to take—and frankly, most men aren’t up to the challenge. If her army of pets and thrill for the absurd don’t send them running, her lack of filter means she’ll say exactly the wrong thing in a delicate moment. Their loss. She’s a good soul in search of honest fun.
Josh Im has known Hazel since college, where her zany playfulness proved completely incompatible with his mellow restraint. From the first night they met—when she gracelessly threw up on his shoes—to when she sent him an unintelligible email while in a post-surgical haze, Josh has always thought of Hazel more as a spectacle than a peer. But now, ten years later, after a cheating girlfriend has turned his life upside down, going out with Hazel is a breath of fresh air.
Not that Josh and Hazel date. At least, not each other. Because setting each other up on progressively terrible double blind dates means there’s nothing between them...right?

My Review
On a whim I rented this book from the local library and I definitely did regret it. This book had a great mix of a humor, romance and a little bit of emotion. I really enjoyed watching how the author developed the characters from the very first page to the last page.
In addition to the characters I think the author did a great job on the storyline. She gave you a view of what it would be like for millennials going through the real dating scene now days and being set up by each other. It was a different view point that I had not read before. I also really enjoyed the humor she add in the story.
Lastly, I really enjoyed how she had Hazel stand up for herself and not change for anyone. I really liked that. It was something that stuck out more than even more than the romance in the book. It really helps anyone who read this book know you don't need to change anyone and to just be yourself.
